About mushr

Software, built next to the people who use it.

mushr started in 2020 at a table next to Koert from Pleunis, at a pizza lunch in Agropolis Kinrooi. It has been in production since 28 July 2021. Today it opens its door to other growers.

The story

A pizza lunch, an Excel problem, and a yes.

In 2020 I had a freelance software business at Agropolis Kinrooi — an agro-business incubator in Belgian Limburg where multiple agricultural companies share a site. Among them: Pleunis Mushrooms, where Koert runs the growing operation.

Once a year all Agropolis residents got together for a pizza lunch. That's where I met Koert. He had a problem: he was managing a mushroom-growing operation across two countries on a tangle of Excel sheets, clipboards and WhatsApp photos. I — sitting at the next table — said yes to helping.

What started as "help with the Excel" became six years of building, side by side. On 28 July 2021 the first grow productions went live in production. Since that day Pleunis Biochamp (BE) and Pleunis Mushrooms (NL) have run on mushr — every day, every batch.

The multi-tenant architecture was baked in from day one — not to build a SaaS, but because Pleunis has two sites. And because somewhere in my head was the idea that this would one day go to other growers. With AI-accelerated development that can now happen in weeks instead of months. It's time.

What we promise

Four things, and we hold ourselves to them.

01

Next to the user, not above.

Every feature comes from a conversation in the hall. Not from a roadmap meeting.

02

One system, no renovation.

We don't add anything that forces you to learn three tools to use one.

03

Your data is yours.

One export button, everything out, no lock-in. Datacenter in the EU.

04

No sales deck.

The demo is your workday, not our pitch. If it doesn't fit, we say so.
